Welcome to Dunns Creek Estate
Intriguing, quality small acre wine varietals Mornington Peninsula Victoria, Australia
Dunn’s Creek Estate is 25 acres in total, set in a natural north-facing amphitheatre with eight acres under vines.
These are offered the triple advantages of the second highest rainfall on the peninsula, the fantastic red soil after which our area is named and the ideal exposure to the sun of north-south planting.
Of the eight acres under vine, Dunns Creek has three of pinot grigio, then equal quantities of barbera, arneis and albarino. Barbera is not widely planted or known in Australia.
While a favourite of Lombardy and Piedmont, Barbera is grown all over Italy. Experienced Italian wine growers know that the best grapes are grown on hilly land and on the sunniest slopes, both of which are offered to our vines by our unique enclave in Red Hill.
In 2005 Dunns Creek Estate entered their 2004 Barbera in the Alternative Varieties Wine Show at Mildura and took out a gold medal.
