The property is a unique enclave covering 25 acres total bursting with a varied array of features sure to delight and intrigue the visitor to the Cellar Door or the guests of luxurious accommodation – Limetree Hideaway.
The Accommodation has been a huge success with hundreds couples having been rejuvenated and regenerated in the still, silent calm of the aptly-named Limetree Hideaway.
The Vineyard covers eight acres and is offered the triple advantage of a north-facing site, the second highest rainfall on the Peninsula and the fantastic red volcanic soil after which our area is named. The block is dedicated to the two grape varieties our area does so well, pinot grigio/gris and pinot noir (MV6).
The Wetland is a revegetated area of about one hectare of once-degraded land which now boasts a stunning path wandering through native vegetation (some rare) where birds and sugar gliders are now re-appearing to live and breed in the nesting boxes provided. This area will be the focus of an Open Garden Scheme invitation to the public in April 2014.
The Gardens have been resurrected and are now looking wonderful with seasonal displays of the signature roses, leucodendrons and proteas plus spring bulbs. The National Trust are investigating listing our twin huge English Oaks trees which we have calculated were planted in about 1860, we are only aware of one other of similar vintage on the Peninsula.
The Orchards brim with fruit in season in the netted fruit orchard and all year round in the citrus orchard sporting lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit and cumquats.
The Animals are the latest addition and have been giving the guests on the property much pleasure hand feeding goats, sheep and alpacas – each with their own personality.
